How to use it
-
Let it be the only metal above the waist. Woven gold at the throat plus anything else becomes noise.
-
Lay it flat when you take it off. Chainmail keeps its shape when it is stored flat and loses it when it is coiled in a box.
-
Wear it against solid color. The weave is the pattern; a printed neckline erases it.
-
Keep it away from knits. Woven links and loose weave fabrics catch on each other.

✨ Temple Tip — store it flat
The single thing that shortens the life of a chainmail piece is being dropped into a jewelry box and coiled. The weave takes a set. Lay it out flat in a shallow dish or a soft pouch and it will still hang the way it did on the day it arrived.
Black onyx and tiger eye are both stones people reach for deliberately — our guide to crystals for protection covers what each is traditionally carried for. The rest of the collars are in Necklaces & Malas.
Questions we get asked
Are the stones genuine?
The black onyx, tiger eye, and peridot are genuine stones. The yellow elements are glass.
What does 1 micron of gold plate mean?
It describes the thickness of the gold layer over the base metal. It is a surface finish rather than solid gold, and it will soften with sustained friction.
Does the weave snag?
Woven links can catch on loose-knit fabric. Worn against a smooth neckline it behaves well.
Is it adjustable?
It is a fitted choker rather than an adjustable-length chain — it is designed to sit at collar height.
Will mine look exactly like the photograph?
Close, but not identical. The stones are natural and hand-set in small batches, so the pattern of banding differs between pieces.
Care & safety: Nickel-free and hypoallergenic. Store flat and away from damp; remove before swimming, showering, sleeping, or applying perfume and hairspray. Plated and oxidized finishes are surface finishes and will soften with wear — that patina is expected rather than a fault. Wipe with a dry soft cloth only; no polishes or dips. Natural stone and vintage glass vary piece to piece. A decorative object — no outcome is promised, and nothing here is medical, legal, or financial advice.
Armor, technically. #TempleOfDesire
