The toggle closure is the tell. A lobster clasp hides at the back of the neck and hopes you forget it; a toggle sits in front, does its job in the open, and makes putting the necklace on part of wearing it.
A long chain necklace with a toggle closure and a glowing golden yellow faceted glass stone. Set in an oxidized silver finish. Intended to be worn alone or layered among other relics.
At a glance
- Glowing golden yellow faceted glass stone
- Toggle closure — worn visible, at the front
- Long chain, built for layering
- Oxidized silver finish, nickel-free and hypoallergenic
- Handcrafted in small batches
How to use it
- Wear the toggle at the front. It is a design element, not a mechanism to hide.
- Use it as the long layer. Under a choker, below a tennis line — it is the piece that gives a stack its depth.
- Or alone, over a plain shirt. One faceted drop on a long chain is a complete idea.
- Shorten it by knotting. A single loose knot high on the chain raises the drop without altering the piece.
- Off before water. Oxidized silver is a surface finish, not a solid color.
Which silhouette sits where
| Silhouette | Sits at | Wear it |
|---|---|---|
| Layering Choker | 16–18.5″, adjustable | As the shortest layer, closest to the throat |
| Chainmail Choker | Choker length | Alone — it is already the whole statement |
| Square Goliath Choker | Choker length, single heavy stone | Alone, or over a high neckline |
| Tennis Necklace | Collarbone | Under a choker, above a long chain |
| Slink Y-Chain | Long, with a drop | As the longest layer, over an open neckline |
| Gem Drop Toggle | Long chain, single drop | Alone, or as the anchor of a stack |
| Saber Tooth Necklace | Collar to upper chest | As the loudest piece in the stack |
| Obscura Stacking Shards | Whisper-thin, layerable | Multiplied — built for stacking |
✨ Temple Tip — the toggle is why this layers well
Golden yellow against oxidized silver is the more useful of the two Gem Drop colorways for most wardrobes — warm stone, cold metal, and a tonal contrast that works against black, cream and denim without adjustment.
Built to anchor a stack — the shorter layers that sit above it are in Necklaces & Malas, and the wrist half of the same look is in Bracelets.
Questions we get asked
Is the stone glass or crystal?
How long is the chain?
Does the toggle come undone?
Can I wear it with the Slink Y-Chain?
Will the oxidized finish wear off?
Care & wear: Store dry and away from direct light. Keep away from perfume, hairspray, chlorine and household cleaners — plating and oxidized finishes are surface treatments and will wear with contact. Clean with a soft dry cloth only. Nickel-free and hypoallergenic as supplied by the maker. An adornment and a ritual object — no outcome is promised. Stone and crystal associations described here are traditions of association, not claims of physical or psychological effect, and nothing here is medical advice.
Warm light, on a long chain, worn in the open. #TempleOfDesire
