How to use it

Place it on a flat, firm floor with clear space around it, and leave it there. At 10 kg this is not an instrument you reposition mid-session, so decide where the room's centre of gravity should be before you start.

With someone standing inside, begin with very light strokes low on the outer wall and build slowly. The vibration at this weight is substantial, and letting a person meet it gradually is both kinder and more effective than a strong opening strike.

Played from outside, use a large mallet and circle the rim slowly and evenly. Big bronze rewards patience — the note takes time to establish and then holds far longer than you expect.
