Five kilograms of bronze, forged by hand in India, and large enough that you can stand inside it. That is not a figure of speech — the Grounding Series is built at a scale where the vibration travels up through the feet rather than arriving at the ears.

The alloy is specific to these bowls and it shows in the sustain: strike once and the tone keeps unfolding, low and unhurried, long past the point where a smaller bowl would have gone quiet. For sound therapy and body-awareness work, that long decay is the whole instrument.

At a glance

  • Grounding Series singing bowl, 5000 g
  • Large enough to stand in
  • Hand-forged in India by skilled artisans
  • Special bronze alloy for rich, immersive sound
  • Deep tones with long sustain
  • For meditation, sound therapy and body-awareness work

How to use it

Set it on a flat, firm floor — not on carpet, and not on a table. The point of a bowl this size is that the floor becomes part of the instrument, and a soft surface cancels most of what you paid for.

To play it with someone standing inside, strike the outer wall gently and low, then let it build. Start far quieter than you think necessary; the vibration is felt before it is heard and the first stroke sets the tolerance for the session.

Played conventionally, strike the rim and circle slowly with a large mallet. The bigger the bowl, the slower the circle — rushing a 5 kg bowl produces a rattle, not a note.

✨ Temple Tip

Play this one barefoot on a wooden floor. Bronze at this weight puts as much into the boards as it does into the air, and shoes remove the better half of the experience.

Frequently asked questions

How heavy is the bowl?

5000 g — five kilograms.

Is it really large enough to stand in?

Yes. The Grounding Series is built at a size that allows a person to stand in the bowl while it is played, so the vibration travels through the body.

Where is it made?

Hand-forged in India by skilled artisans using a special bronze alloy.

What does it sound like?

Deep tones with a long sustain, described by the maker as rich and immersive.

What surface should I play it on?

A flat, firm floor. Carpet and soft surfaces absorb the resonance that makes a bowl this size worth having.

How quickly does it ship?

Ships within 3 business days.
