Family-run business
Here for you with passion and heart.
Most singing bowls you listen to. This one you stand in. At 9000 grams and wide enough to hold both feet, it does something a smaller bowl physically cannot — it moves the sound through you rather than around you.
Forged by hand in India from a special bronze alloy, it speaks low and holds the note for a long time. Practitioners use it as the floor of a session: the tone everything else is built on top of.
At a glance
- Weight – 9000 g — a substantial, floor-standing bowl
- Size – Large enough to stand in for full-body vibration
- Made – Hand-forged in India by skilled artisans
- Material – Special bronze alloy chosen for depth of tone
- Voice – Deep fundamental with long sustain
- Shipping – Ships within 3 business days
How to use it
Place it directly on the floor, on a mat or cushion — never on bare tile, and never on a table. A bowl this heavy needs a surface that will not ring back at it.
For seated work, sit beside it and strike the outer wall low, near the base, with a large padded mallet. The lower you strike, the deeper the fundamental. Let it ring out fully before you strike again; rushing a bowl this size just muddies it.
For standing work, step in barefoot with your weight evenly placed and have a second person strike gently on the outside wall. Start far softer than you think you need to. You are feeling for the vibration in the legs and hips, not for volume.
✨ Temple Tip
Strike it low and slow at the very end of a session, once, and then say nothing for two full minutes. A bowl this size leaves an afterimage in a room. The temptation to talk over it is strong — resist it, and the session lands twice as hard.
Frequently asked questions
Can I really stand in it?
Yes — that is what the size is for. Step in barefoot, keep your weight balanced, and have someone strike gently on the outer wall. Build up volume slowly rather than starting loud.
Is bronze different from quartz?
Completely. Bronze bowls speak lower, carry more overtone complexity and feel more physical in the body. Quartz bowls are brighter and purer. Many practitioners keep both for exactly that reason.
What mallet does it need?
A large padded or felt mallet. A small suede mallet will not move a 9000 g bowl properly and a hard mallet risks the rim.
How do I care for it?
Dust with a dry cloth. Bronze develops a patina over time; that is normal and part of the instrument. If you want it bright, use a cloth made for bronze — never an abrasive.
Is it loud?
It is deep rather than loud. The character is felt as much as heard, which is why it works so well in body-based sound sessions.
Stand in it once and you will understand why people build a whole practice around a single bowl. #TempleOfDesire
