White sage clears out what has gone stale. The golden flower bound into this bundle does something different — it ushers in a new era of optimism and hope. Together they make a smudge for the moment after the clearing, when you are ready to name what comes next.

It is beautiful enough that many people cannot bring themselves to light it right away, and that is entirely fine: some keep it as altar decor until they feel ready to move forward into the new now. When that moment arrives, burn it to bring vitality back to your days and reconnect with your sense of purpose.

At a glance

  • Size: 4-inch bundle
  • Botanicals: White sage with a yellow paper flower
  • Best for: New beginnings, optimism, reconnecting with purpose
  • Doubles as: Altar decor until you are ready to burn it
  • Sourcing: Sage farm-grown in Mexico, never wild-harvested from Native land

How to use it

  1. Light the end of the bundle with the fewest stems and let it catch, then gently blow out the flame so it smolders.
  2. Waft the smoke with your hand or a feather, or rest the bundle on a heat-resistant surface such as an abalone shell.
  3. Move through the room clockwise, paying attention to corners, doorways, and any space that feels heavy.
  4. Open a window so the smoke — and whatever it carries — has somewhere to go.
  5. Press the lit end out completely in sand or a shell. Never leave a smoldering bundle unattended.

The ceremonial triad

Sacred smoke Its role in the ceremony When to reach for it
Sweetgrass Calls the energies forth At the very start, to open the space
White Sage Clears and cleanses In the middle, to sweep out what is stale
Palo Santo Raises the vibration At the close, to lift the room

✨ Temple Tip — burn it on a threshold day

Save this one for a day that marks a turn — a first day at something, a new moon, the morning after a decision. Light it, say the thing you are moving toward out loud, and let the golden flower hold the intention while the sage clears the path.

Questions we get asked

Can I keep it as decor instead of burning it?

Absolutely. Many people keep this bundle on the altar as decor and light it only when they feel ready to move forward. It works either way.

What does the yellow flower add?

White sage clears out negativity; the golden flower ushers in optimism and hope. Together they make a bundle for vitality and a renewed sense of purpose.

Where does your white sage come from?

Never harvest white sage from national parks or Native land — it is not ours to take. Our sage is farm-grown in sustainable ways on a farm in Mexico.

How do I put it out safely?

Press the smoldering end firmly into sand or a heat-resistant shell until no smoke rises. Never leave a bundle unattended, and keep it away from children, animals, and flammable materials.

Is this a health or medical product?

No. Our crystal and herbal products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and nothing here has been evaluated by the FDA. They are ritual and spiritual tools. Please consult a healthcare professional for medical questions, and speak with one before using herbal products if you are pregnant, nursing, or taking medication.

When will it ship?

Ships within 3 business days from our US fulfillment partner.

Smudge responsibly, or with adult supervision. Loved by ritual keepers across Europe, and now finding its way to American altars.

In short

This is a 4-inch white sage smudge stick from Sacred Crystals with a single yellow paper flower bound into it. The sage is farm-grown in Mexico rather than wild-harvested from Native land. Practitioners burn it for the moment after a clearing — new beginnings, a new moon, a first day — and many keep it on an altar as decoration until they are ready to light it. One bundle is $6.95. The paper flower is decorative and burns with the bundle; a smoldering stick should never be left unattended.
