Tiger eye is the stone people reach for when they want to feel less easily read — and this collar is not subtle about it. Bronze and honey catch across the throat as you move, and then the green cuts in and refuses to blend.

A choker built from genuine tiger eye and green glass, set in one micron of gold plate. Tiger eye is a natural stone, so the banding and the way each cabochon throws light differ from piece to piece; the green glass stays vivid and constant against it. Nickel-free and hypoallergenic throughout, handcrafted in small batches.

At a glance

  • Genuine tiger eye and green glass — a collar-height statement piece
  • Set in 1 micron of gold plate
  • Nickel-free and hypoallergenic
  • Handcrafted in small batches — banding and light vary piece to piece

How to use it

  • Wear it as the only piece above the collarbone. A collar this dense competes with anything else at the throat, and loses nothing by standing alone.
  • Give it a plain neckline. Crew, scoop, or bare — the stones do the ornamentation.
  • Let the green lead. It reads brightest against black, deep green, and unbleached natural tones; against warm browns it recedes and the tiger eye takes over.
  • Put it on last, after perfume, hairspray, and lotion have dried.

Which stone is doing what

Element What it is How it behaves
Tiger eye Natural banded stone Shifts between bronze and honey as the light moves
Green glass Poison-dart colorway Stays saturated and constant; provides the contrast
Setting 1 micron gold plate Warm tone that pulls the tiger eye forward

✨ Temple Tip — wear it where the light moves

Tiger eye is a chatoyant stone — the band of light travels across it as you turn. A piece like this does most of its work in motion and almost none of it in a mirror. If you are deciding whether it suits you, walk across a room in it rather than standing still in front of the glass.

The longer line in the same stones is the Tiger Eye & Poison Dart Tennis Necklace — it layers underneath this one. On the stones themselves, see crystals for protection.

Questions we get asked

Is the tiger eye genuine stone?
Yes. The tiger eye is genuine natural stone; the vivid green elements are glass. Because the stone is natural, banding and color vary between pieces.
Will the gold plating wear?
It is one micron of gold plate, which is a surface finish. With regular wear it will soften over time — keeping it dry and away from perfume and friction slows that considerably.
Is it safe for sensitive ears and skin?
The piece is nickel-free and hypoallergenic, which is the usual sticking point for people who react to costume jewelry.
How does it sit on the neck?
It sits high, at collar height, rather than draping. It is designed to be the piece at the throat, not one of several.
Are two of them identical?
No. It is handcrafted in small batches with natural stone, so no two collars match exactly.

Care & safety: Nickel-free and hypoallergenic. Store flat and away from damp; remove before swimming, showering, sleeping, or applying perfume and hairspray. Plated and oxidized finishes are surface finishes and will soften with wear — that patina is expected rather than a fault. Wipe with a dry soft cloth only; no polishes or dips. Natural stone and vintage glass vary piece to piece. A decorative object — no outcome is promised, and nothing here is medical, legal, or financial advice.

Put it on, then walk somewhere with good light. #TempleOfDesire
