At a glance
-
Natural striated crystal quartz, carved as an oversized oval
-
Smoky internal fractures and veils — unique to each stone
-
Tall setting in an oxidized silver finish
- Wide sterling silver band
- Nickel-free and hypoallergenic
How to use it
-
Wear it on the hand you gesture with. The interior only reveals itself in motion.
-
One statement ring per hand. A tall setting at this scale needs empty fingers on either side.
-
Take it off for manual work. A tall setting catches on everything — pockets, sleeves, door handles.
-
Quartz is traditionally associated with clarity, worn as a tradition of association.
-
Remove it before hand-washing. Soap collects under a tall setting and dulls the stone from beneath.

✨ Temple Tip — the fractures are the stone, not the flaw
Buyers new to natural quartz sometimes read the veils and internal fractures as damage. They are formed features — the stone grew that way, over a period considerably longer than any of us will be around to appreciate it. A flawless version of this ring would be glass.
Questions we get asked
Are the crystals natural?
Natural striated crystal quartz. The striations, veils and internal fractures are formed features of the stone, which is why no two pieces are identical — the photograph shows the character, not the exact specimen.
Are the fractures inside a defect?
No. Veils, striations and internal fractures are natural features of striated quartz and are the reason the stone was chosen. Perfect clarity would mean it was not quartz.
What sizes are available?
Size options appear on this page. If your size is not shown it is not currently in stock.
Is it comfortable for daily wear?
The band is wide and the setting is tall. It is comfortable seated at a desk and awkward for manual work — most people wear it selectively.
How is it different from the Square Goliath ring?
Same material and construction. The Oval Colossus has a rounded oval face that reads softer; the Square Goliath is squared and reads more architectural.
Care & wear: Store dry and away from direct light. Keep away from perfume, hairspray, chlorine and household cleaners — plating and oxidized finishes are surface treatments and will wear with contact. Clean with a soft dry cloth only. Nickel-free and hypoallergenic as supplied by the maker. An adornment and a ritual object — no outcome is promised. Stone and crystal associations described here are traditions of association, not claims of physical or psychological effect, and nothing here is medical advice.
The Square Goliath Ring uses the same quartz with a hard right angle instead of a curve, and the Oval Colossus in Green Envy is this exact shape in green glass. If you want to know what you are looking at in a stone like this, start with Real vs. Treated Crystals.
