A Y-chain does something no other necklace shape manages: it draws a vertical line down the centre of the body. Everything else in a stack runs horizontally. This is the one that goes the other way.

Luminous green glass strung throughout thin silver cable chain, in an oxidized silver finish. Glowing tones that shift from emerald to lime.

At a glance

  • Luminous green glass strung throughout the chain
  • Thin silver cable chain
  • Oxidized silver finish, nickel-free and hypoallergenic
  • Y-drop silhouette — a vertical line through a horizontal stack
  • Handcrafted in small batches

How to use it

  • Wear it as the longest layer. The drop needs clear space below the other pieces to read.
  • Open necklines only. A Y-chain against a closed collar loses its entire silhouette.
  • Pair it with one horizontal piece, not three. A choker above and this below is the whole composition.
  • It also works over knitwear — the vertical line is one of the few that survives a heavy texture.
  • Store it hanging or laid flat. Thin cable chain knots at the Y if it is bundled.

Which silhouette sits where

Silhouette Sits at Wear it
Layering Choker 16–18.5″, adjustable As the shortest layer, closest to the throat
Chainmail Choker Choker length Alone — it is already the whole statement
Square Goliath Choker Choker length, single heavy stone Alone, or over a high neckline
Tennis Necklace Collarbone Under a choker, above a long chain
Slink Y-Chain Long, with a drop As the longest layer, over an open neckline
Gem Drop Toggle Long chain, single drop Alone, or as the anchor of a stack
Saber Tooth Necklace Collar to upper chest As the loudest piece in the stack
Obscura Stacking Shards Whisper-thin, layerable Multiplied — built for stacking

✨ Temple Tip — the only vertical piece in the collection

Every other necklace in this collection runs across the body. This one runs down it. That makes it the single most useful piece here for layering — it does not compete with a choker or a tennis line for the same inch of neck, because it is working in a different direction entirely.

Questions we get asked

Is the stone glass or crystal?
Faceted glass, not gemstone — the maker states this plainly rather than dressing it up. Glass is what allows color this saturated and this consistent; a natural stone in the same tone would cost several times as much and be cloudier for it.
How long is it?
The maker describes it as a long Y-chain without publishing an exact measurement, and we do not invent numbers. Ask before ordering if precise length matters.
Can it be worn with a choker?
Yes — this is its best use. A choker at the throat and a Y-drop below gives you a cross rather than a pile.
Will the glass scratch?
Glass is softer than quartz. Store it away from harder stones and it will stay clear.
Does the finish wear?
Oxidized silver is a surface treatment and softens with contact. Keep it away from perfume, chlorine and household cleaners.

Care & wear: Store dry and away from direct light. Keep away from perfume, hairspray, chlorine and household cleaners — plating and oxidized finishes are surface treatments and will wear with contact. Clean with a soft dry cloth only. Nickel-free and hypoallergenic as supplied by the maker. An adornment and a ritual object — no outcome is promised. Stone and crystal associations described here are traditions of association, not claims of physical or psychological effect, and nothing here is medical advice.

The Slink Y-Chain in Golden runs the same silhouette in amber glass. If you want the green on a toggle rather than a Y-drop, the Gem Drop Toggle in Green Envy is the shorter answer. Both in Necklaces & Malas.

In short

The Slink Y-Chain in Green Envy is a Y-drop necklace by mia vesper. Luminous green glass shifting from emerald to lime is strung throughout a thin silver cable chain in an oxidized silver finish, handcrafted in small batches. The Y-shape draws a vertical line down the centre of the body, so it is worn as the longest layer over an open neckline, usually with one horizontal piece above it. It costs $495 and the setting is nickel-free and hypoallergenic. The stones are glass rather than gemstone, and the thin cable chain knots at the Y if the necklace is bundled instead of hung or laid flat.
