Quartz that was never polished into agreement. Each shard carries its own clouds and internal fractures, which is why no two of these necklaces are the same piece twice.

Natural striated crystal quartz drapes between an oxidized silver cable chain in a Y-drop. The striations are formations in the stone rather than surface cutting — they catch light unevenly and leave the piece looking different from one angle to the next. Nickel-free and hypoallergenic, handcrafted in small batches.

At a glance

  • Natural striated crystal quartz — clouds and fractures unique to each shard
  • Oxidized silver cable chain in a Y-drop
  • Nickel-free and hypoallergenic
  • Handcrafted in small batches — no two pieces identical

How to use it

  • Give the drop somewhere to fall. A Y-chain needs an open neckline; a high collar swallows the entire shape.
  • Wear it alone. The drop is the composition — a second chain crossing it just breaks the line.
  • Look at your own shards before you decide what you own. Natural quartz varies, and the piece you receive will have its own internal weather.
  • Keep it out of ultrasonic cleaners. Fractured natural quartz does not respond well to them.

Natural quartz vs. cut glass

Natural striated quartz Cut glass
Consistency Every shard differs Uniform and repeatable
How it holds light Uneven, cloud to clear Even and predictable
Internal marks Clouds and fractures are expected Considered a flaw
What you are buying A specific piece of stone A specific design

✨ Temple Tip — the clouds are not damage

The most common worry with natural striated quartz is that the internal veils and fractures are faults. They are the material. A shard with no clouds in it would almost certainly be glass. Judge the piece on how it catches light, not on how clear it is.

The same line in warm amber glass is the Slink Y-Chain in Golden. Natural quartz asks for very little upkeep, but if you like to reset a stone you wear daily, see how to cleanse crystals without ruining them.

Questions we get asked

Is the quartz natural?
Yes — natural striated crystal quartz, not cut glass. That is why each shard has its own clouds and fractures.
Will mine look like the photographs?
It will be the same design and the same material, but the specific pattern inside the stone will be its own. That is inherent to natural quartz.
Are the internal lines a defect?
No. Clouds, veils, and fracture lines are formations in the stone and are expected in a striated quartz piece.
How should I clean it?
A dry soft cloth only. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and chemical dips — fractured natural stone can react badly to both.
Is it nickel-free?
Yes, nickel-free and hypoallergenic throughout.

Care & safety: Nickel-free and hypoallergenic. Store flat and away from damp; remove before swimming, showering, sleeping, or applying perfume and hairspray. Plated and oxidized finishes are surface finishes and will soften with wear — that patina is expected rather than a fault. Wipe with a dry soft cloth only; no polishes or dips. Natural stone and vintage glass vary piece to piece. A decorative object — no outcome is promised, and nothing here is medical, legal, or financial advice.

No two. That is the point. #TempleOfDesire

In short

The Slink Y-Chain in Striated Crystal is a Y-drop necklace by mia vesper. Natural striated crystal quartz drapes between an oxidized silver cable chain, and the striations are formations inside the stone rather than surface cutting, so each shard carries its own clouds and internal fractures. It is worn alone with an open neckline, since a high collar swallows the drop and a crossing chain breaks the line. It costs $525. The internal veils are a property of natural quartz rather than damage, and the piece should be kept out of ultrasonic cleaners.
