Hand-blown using traditional glassblowing, then fluted so the surface breaks light into vertical bands. Clear glaze, no color, nothing to compete with what you put in it.

It takes a full bunch of fresh blooms or a single indoor plant, and the ribbing means it looks considered even when it stands empty.

At a glance

  • Hand-blown with a traditional fluting technique
  • Clear glaze, ribbed vertical surface
  • Suits fresh flowers or a potted plant
  • Refracts candlelight and daylight along the ribs
  • Small variations from hand production

How to use it

For fresh flowers, change the water every two days and cut stems on the diagonal. For a plant, use an inner pot rather than potting directly into glass.

Hand wash with warm water; a bottle brush reaches the base. Avoid sudden temperature changes.

✨ Temple Tip

Put it where light passes through rather than lands on it — in front of a window, not against a wall. The ribbing only does its work with light behind it.

Questions we get asked

Can I plant directly into it?

Better not. Use an inner pot so the roots are not sitting in glass without drainage.

Is it dishwasher-safe?

Hand washing is safer for hand-blown glass, and a bottle brush cleans it properly.

Does every vase look the same?

No. Hand-blowing produces small differences in thickness and form.

What size flowers suit it?

A medium bunch. Very tall stems will want a heavier base.

Clear, ribbed, and better with light behind it. #TempleOfDesire

In short

The Fluted Glass Vase is a hand-blown clear glass vessel with a fluted, vertically ribbed surface that breaks light into bands. It is finished with a clear glaze and no added color, and takes a full bunch of cut flowers or a potted plant in an inner pot. It costs $103.95. Hand-blowing produces small differences in thickness and form between vases. Planting directly into the glass is not advised, since there is no drainage, and hand washing with a bottle brush is safer for the piece than a dishwasher.
