How to use it

Hold the mala in one hand and move bead by bead with your thumb, one breath or one mantra per bead, until you reach the larger guru bead.

Traditionally you do not cross the guru bead: when you reach it, turn the mala around and go back the way you came.

Worn as a necklace it sits long on the chest. Take it off before sleeping or showering — knotted cord lasts far longer dry.
