At a glance
- 300 g (10.6 oz) air-dry clay — no kiln or wheel needed
- Three precision modeling tools included
- Paints and brush included
- Full step-by-step template for beginners
- Makes a functional incense holder
How to use it
Work the clay until it is warm and pliable, follow the template, and make the ash channel deeper than you think you need. Let it dry fully in open air — usually 24 to 72 hours depending on thickness — before painting.
Paint only when the clay is bone dry. Air-dry clay is not waterproof; seal it with a clear varnish if you want it to tolerate a damp cloth.
✨ Temple Tip
Making the object you burn incense in changes the ritual more than buying a better one does. The thing you made carries the attention you put into making it — which is most of what an altar object is for.
Questions we get asked
Do I need a kiln?
No. The clay air-dries at room temperature.
How long does it take to dry?
Usually 24 to 72 hours depending on thickness. Let it dry completely before painting.
Is it suitable for beginners?
Yes — the kit includes a full step-by-step template and requires no prior experience.
Is the finished holder waterproof?
No. Air-dry clay is porous. Seal it with a clear varnish if you want to wipe it clean.
