Browning butter properly takes attention you do not always have, and the window between nutty and burnt is about forty seconds wide. This jar removes that problem entirely.

It is grass-fed cultured butter slow-cooked over an open flame to the edge of its deliciousness, developing flavor notes of nuts and caramel, then clarified. It carries a higher smoke point than butter, which makes it a straightforward choice for sautéing, roasting and baking — and it is often used in whole foods, paleo-style and keto cooking.

At a glance

  • Slow-cooked over open flame to develop nut and caramel notes
  • Four sizes: 2 oz, 10 oz, 19 oz and 33 oz
  • Higher smoke point than butter — built for heat
  • Ingredients: grass-fed clarified cultured butter (milk)
  • Often used in whole foods, paleo-style and keto cooking

How to use it

  • Roast vegetables in it. The caramel note meets the browning and the two reinforce each other.
  • Bake with it where a recipe asks for browned butter — you skip the step and the risk together.
  • Sauté at heat that would take plain butter past the point of no return.
  • Pair it with Vanilla Dream for cookies and caramel — the combination the manufacturer recommends.
  • Dry spoon, sealed jar.

✨ Temple Tip — use it where the browning is the point

Swapping this into a dish that never browns wastes what makes it different. Put it where heat and surface meet — roast potatoes, seared vegetables, the bottom of a cookie — and the nut and caramel notes have something to work with.

Questions we get asked

How is it different from Traditional Ghee?
It is cooked further. Traditional is clean and cultured; Brown Butter is taken to the point where nut and caramel notes develop, and it carries a higher smoke point.
Can I use it instead of browning butter myself?
That is precisely the use. It saves the step and removes the risk of taking it too far.
Is it sweet?
No. The caramel is a flavor note from the cooking, not added sugar.
Does it contain dairy?
Yes. Ghee is clarified butter, and the ingredient list begins with grass-fed clarified cultured butter (milk). Treat it as a dairy product for allergen purposes.
How do I store it?
Ghee is shelf-stable and does not need refrigeration. Keep the jar sealed, out of direct sun, and always use a dry spoon — water introduced into the jar is the one thing that will spoil it.

The high smoke point makes this the searing jar; for sweet work the Vanilla Dream Ghee is the one Ahara Rasa pair it with. Both live in Sacred Kitchen.

In short

Brown Butter Ghee is a grass-fed ghee from AHARA RASA. It is cultured grass-fed butter slow-cooked over an open flame until it develops nut and caramel notes, then clarified, giving a higher smoke point than butter. People roast vegetables in it, bake with it where a recipe asks for browned butter, and saute at heats that would take plain butter too far; it is often used in whole foods, paleo-style and keto cooking. It is sold in 2 oz, 10 oz, 19 oz and 33 oz jars, starting at $8.00, and is shelf-stable. It contains milk, and its browned flavor is pronounced, so it is not a neutral cooking fat.
