Vanilla and butter is not a new idea; vanilla already in the butter is a better one. This is grass-fed clarified butter infused with organic vanilla bean — subtly sweet, and considerably more useful than it first sounds.
It earns its place in coffee and tea, where a spoonful does what cream and sugar were doing but with more character. In baking it is the shortcut that makes a cookie taste like it took longer than it did — particularly alongside Brown Butter Ghee, which is the combination Ahara Rasa themselves recommend.
At a glance
- Grass-fed clarified butter infused with organic vanilla bean
- Three sizes: 2 oz, 10 oz and 19 oz
- Subtly sweet — vanilla, not vanilla frosting
- Ingredients: grass-fed clarified butter (milk), organic vanilla bean
- Pairs with Brown Butter Ghee for cookies and caramel
How to use it
- Stir it into coffee or tea. A spoonful melts straight in and does the job cream and sugar were doing.
- Bake with it. Swap it for some of the butter in a cookie dough and you get vanilla depth without adding liquid extract.
- Pair it with Brown Butter Ghee — the manufacturer's own recommendation, and the reason both jars end up in the same cupboard.
- Spread it on toast or warm brioche and leave it at that.
- Dry spoon, sealed jar. Shelf-stable, but water will spoil it.

✨ Temple Tip — put it in the coffee before you put it in the cake
The fastest way to understand what this jar does is to stir a small spoonful into black coffee and drink it. You will taste exactly what it will contribute to a dough — and you will know immediately whether you want it in the dough at all.
Questions we get asked
Is it sweet?
Can I bake with it?
Will it work in coffee?
Does it contain dairy?
How do I store it?
Ahara Rasa suggest baking it alongside the Brown Butter Ghee, and the rest of the pantry is in Ritual Kitchen. It stirs into a mug of ceremonial cacao as cleanly as it does into coffee.
