Heavenly Nectar is the warmest stick in the Tao Premium line. The maker built it around the mystical idea of a heavenly nectar, with warm and enveloping tones of Indian aromas — an olfactory experience that carries the soul toward sacred lands.

It is the one to reach for when the room is cold, the evening is long, or the practice needs settling rather than sharpening. Each stick burns for about 60 minutes, and can be extinguished and relit for several shorter sessions. Handmade, hand-rolled and hand-packaged.

At a glance

  • Heavenly Nectar — from the Tao Premium line
  • Warm, enveloping Indian aromatic tones
  • About 60 minutes of burn per stick
  • Multiple burns per stick — extinguish and relight
  • Handmade, hand-rolled, hand-packaged

How to use it

  • Burn it in the evening. Warm resinous scents read best after dark; the same stick in bright morning light can feel heavy.
  • Heat-proof holder with an ash catcher. On a stable, non-flammable surface, away from drafts and curtains.
  • Thirty minutes, then pinch it out. A full hour of a warm stick is a lot in a small room. Save the second half.
  • Pair it with low light. Warm scent and warm light do the same job; together they do it twice as well.
  • Keep the box shut between burns. Porous sticks trade scent with whatever shares the drawer.

The Tao Premium line

Scent Character
Heavenly Nectar Warm, enveloping, Indian aromatic tones
Nag Champa Mystical and royal — the classic
Sandalwood Warm and woody, Hindu sandalwood inspired
Lemon Vibrant and fresh — clarity and renewal

✨ Temple Tip — warm scents want a cold room

Heavenly Nectar reads richest in a space that is slightly cool and slightly dim. In a warm, bright room the same stick can feel cloying — so open the window, drop the lamps, then light it.

Questions we get asked

How is this different from Nag Champa?
Both sit in the warm end of the line. Nag Champa is the sweeter, more recognizable classic; Heavenly Nectar is described by the maker as warmer and more enveloping, leaning further into Indian aromatic tones.
How long does one stick burn?
About 60 minutes. You can also put a stick out partway through and relight it later, so a single stick can carry several shorter sessions rather than one long one.
Can I put it out and relight it?
Yes — that is how these are built. Press the lit end gently against a heat-proof surface or into sand until the ember dies, then relight the same tip when you want it again.
Is it really handmade?
Yes. The maker rolls, blends and packs each batch by hand, which is why stick thickness and color vary a little from box to box. That variation is the signature, not a defect.
Can I return it?
This item is non-returnable. Because it is a burnable, hand-made good, it cannot be restocked once it leaves us — so read the scent notes carefully before you choose, and reach out first if you are unsure.

California Proposition 65 warning: Burning incense produces combustion by-products. Use in a well-ventilated space.

Burn safely: Always burn in a heat-proof holder on a stable, non-flammable surface, in a well-ventilated room, away from drafts, curtains and anything that can catch. Never leave a burning stick unattended and keep away from children and pets. Smoke cleansing produces a generous amount of smoke — start away from smoke detectors. This item is non-returnable. In short

Heavenly Nectar is a hand-rolled stick from the Tao Premium line by Sacred Scents Sanctuary, built around warm, enveloping Indian aromatic tones. Each stick is handmade, hand-rolled and hand-packaged, burns for about 60 minutes, and can be extinguished and relit. It is generally burned in the evening or in a cool, dim room, where warm resinous scents read better than in bright daylight. A box costs $16. It is the warmest and heaviest of the four Tao Premium scents — in a small, warm room a full hour can be more than the space needs.
