Strung between crystals, this choker was designed as a collision — fragments that have no business sharing a chain, made to share one anyway. The tension is the point.

A glowing arrangement of galaxy black, shark grey, bruise purple, froth pink, molten orange and mothy lavender 1960s dead-stock glass, set in an oxidized silver finish and handcrafted in Germany. Adjustable from 16 to 18.5 inches.

At a glance

  • 1960s dead-stock glass stones, sourced and reassembled
  • Strung between crystals for spacing and light
  • Oxidized silver finish, nickel-free and hypoallergenic
  • Handcrafted in Germany in small batches
  • 16–18.5 inches, adjustable

How to use it

  • Wear it closest to the throat. This is the base layer a stack is built on, not the finish.
  • Keep the rest of the stack quiet. Plain chain, one long drop — nothing that argues with six colors.
  • Set the length before the mirror lies to you. 16 inches reads punk; 18.5 reads romantic. Same piece.
  • Good against a bare neckline. The crystal spacers need light between the stones to do their job.
  • Last on, first off. Put it on after perfume and hairspray, take it off before you wash.

Which colorway is which

Colorway What it is Mood
Punk Rocks Galaxy black, shark grey, bruise purple, froth pink, molten orange and mothy lavender — or genuine tiger eye, onyx, amethyst and yellow glass, depending on the silhouette Loud, bruised, maximal
Striated Crystal Natural striated crystal quartz, veiled and fractured, never twice the same Glacial, cold-lit, quiet
Green Envy Faceted green glass shifting from emerald to lime to forest Venomous, saturated
Golden Golden yellow glass moving from honey to deep amber Warm, lit-from-within
Angora Genuine tiger eye, smoky quartz, labradorite, muted yellow and muted violet glass Muted, earthen, tonal

✨ Temple Tip — the difference between Paint Pot and Fang

Both are Punk Rocks layering chokers in the same 16–18.5 inch range, and the palette is identical. Paint Pot is strung between crystals, which opens the piece up and lets light through; Fang runs the stones tighter and darker. If you want the colorway to read from across a room, take Fang. If you want it to read up close, take this one.

Questions we get asked

How is this different from the Fang choker?
Same colorway and same adjustable length. Paint Pot is strung between crystals, giving it more space and more light between stones; Fang is the denser, harder-edged reading of the same palette.
Are the stones vintage?
They are 1960s dead-stock glass — original period stock, unused, sourced and reassembled by hand.
Will mine match the photograph exactly?
Closely, not identically. The stones are hand-sorted from finite stock, so the arrangement of the six colors shifts between pieces.
What length should I choose?
There is no choice to make — the chain adjusts from 16 to 18.5 inches, so you set it each time you wear it.
Can I sleep or shower in it?
No. Oxidized silver is a surface finish and water, soap and friction will wear it unevenly.

Care & wear: Store dry and away from direct light. Keep away from perfume, hairspray, chlorine and household cleaners — plating and oxidized finishes are surface treatments and will wear with contact. Clean with a soft dry cloth only. Nickel-free and hypoallergenic as supplied by the maker. An adornment and a ritual object — no outcome is promised. Stone and crystal associations described here are traditions of association, not claims of physical or psychological effect, and nothing here is medical advice.

The gold-plated version turns the same collision warm. For a quieter Paint Pot, the plain Paint Pot choker drops the crystal setting and keeps only the prismatic glass. Both sit in Necklaces & Malas.

A collision, held at the throat, on purpose. #TempleOfDesire

In short

The Paint Pot Layering Choker in Punk Rocks is a crystal-set choker by mia vesper. It strings 1960s dead-stock glass stones — galaxy black, shark grey, bruise purple, froth pink, molten orange and mothy lavender — between crystal spacers in an oxidized silver finish, handcrafted in Germany in small batches. It adjusts from 16 to 18.5 inches and sits closest to the throat as the base layer of a stack. It costs $350 and the setting is nickel-free and hypoallergenic. The spacers need open light between the stones to read, so the piece loses its effect against a high collar, and perfume and hairspray strip the oxidized finish.
