Turkey tail is the banded, fan-shaped polypore you find growing in tiers on fallen wood — and the one mushroom most people meet in a research paper before they meet it in a cup. This is the extract, not the raw mushroom: a fine powder that stirs into cacao, coffee or broth without announcing itself.
What matters in a mushroom powder is what is actually in it. Ora grows this one outdoors in hoop houses rather than in a laboratory, extracts it 1:1 in water from the fruiting body alone, and lab tests it three times. There is no grain, no starch and no filler making up the weight.

How to use it
Stir 2 g into anything hot and already flavored. It suits ceremonial cacao particularly well, since the cacao carries the earthiness completely; coffee, chai and savory broth work just as well.
Add it after the liquid is off the boil and whisk briefly so it does not clump. There is no ceremony required here — one scoop, once a day, into something you were going to drink anyway.
If you would rather not measure it out yourself, Mystical Mushroom blends turkey tail with ten other extracts straight into the cacao.
✨ Temple Tip
Keep the bag next to whatever you make first in the morning, not in a cupboard. A mushroom powder you have to go looking for is a mushroom powder you stop using in week three.
Frequently asked questions
What does 1:1 water extracted mean?
One kilogram of dried mushroom yields one kilogram of extract, extracted in water rather than alcohol. It is a measure of concentration and of how the compounds were drawn out.
Why does fruiting body matter?
Many mushroom powders are mycelium grown on grain, and the grain is milled in with it. This extract is made from the mushroom itself, so no grain or starch is carried into the powder.
What are beta glucans?
Beta glucans are polysaccharides found in the mushroom's cell walls, and the figure most commonly used to compare mushroom products. This one carries 900 mg per 2 g serving.
How does it taste?
Mild and earthy. In cacao or coffee it is barely detectable; in plain hot water it is noticeable.
Is it gluten free?
Yes — there are no grains or fillers in the extract.
How do I store it?
Cool, dark, dry and sealed. Cacao picks up other smells quickly, so keep it away from strong spices.

One scoop, one cup, and nothing in the bag but mushroom. #TempleOfDesire
