-
Light, let it flame, blow it out. Keep the ember.
-
Never leave burning incense unattended — the maker says so and so do we.

Try one scent for a week before moving to the next. Resins reveal themselves slowly.
✨ Temple Tip — rolled resin and dipped bamboo are not the same product
If incense has ever smelled great for the first few minutes and faintly of burnt stick afterwards, you were burning a dipped bamboo core. Rolled resin has the aromatic material throughout, so the last third smells like the first — which is the difference you are paying for in a hand-rolled packet.
Questions we get asked
What scents are available?
Scent options appear on this page. If one is not listed it is not currently in stock.
How much incense is in a packet?
30g of hand-rolled sticks. Stick count varies slightly because they are rolled by hand.
Is Govinda the same as Madre Tierra?
Yes — Govinda is also known as the Madre Tierra brand, and packets appear under both names.
How is this different from ordinary incense sticks?
These are resin sticks rolled by hand rather than a bamboo core dipped in fragrance oil, which is why they burn evenly all the way down.
Do I need a holder?
Yes. Use a heat-proof holder or ash catcher on a stable, non-flammable surface, in a ventilated room, and never leave a burning stick unattended.
Burn safely: Always burn in a heat-proof holder on a stable, non-flammable surface, in a well-ventilated room. Never leave a burning stick, bomb or disk unattended. Keep away from children, pets, curtains and anything that catches. Smoke-cleansing products give off a lot of smoke — start away from smoke detectors. Store dry and out of direct sun. A ritual object, not a remedy: traditional associations described here are traditions of association, not claims of physical or psychological effect, and nothing here is medical advice.
