At a glance
- Aroma: myrrh and cypress

Part of the 7 Cosmic Incenses — one stick for each planet
-
Traditionally burned on Saturdays, the Saturn day
-
About 60 minutes per stick — extinguish and relight for multiple sessions from one stick
- Handmade, hand-rolled and hand-packaged
-
Conscious packing — orders may arrive in reused shipping boxes and locally recycled paper
How to use it
-
Burn it in a room you are about to work in, not one you are about to sleep in. Myrrh is a resin, and resins hang around.
- Heat-proof holder, stable surface, ventilated room.
-
Light, flame, blow out. Keep the ember.
-
Twenty minutes is plenty for a small room. Extinguish in sand and keep the rest.
-
Follow it with a window open if the space is one you sleep in — resin scent lingers into the next day.

✨ Temple Tip — resin scents outstay their welcome by design
Myrrh clings to soft furnishings far longer than a floral does — which is exactly why it has been used in ritual for three thousand years, and exactly why you should not light it in a bedroom at eleven at night. Burn it in the afternoon and the room still smells of it at bedtime, which is the effect you actually wanted.
Questions we get asked
Is myrrh a heavy scent?
Yes. It is a resin — dry, dark and persistent. Cypress cuts it with something green and sharp, but this is the least sweet stick in the series.
Do I have to burn it on a Saturday?
No. Saturday is the traditional association for Saturn, not an instruction.
How long does one stick last?
About 60 minutes of continuous burn, and it is made to be extinguished and relit across several sessions.
Can I put one out and relight it?
Yes — that is how the maker intends them to be used. Press the lit end gently into sand or a heat-proof dish, let it cool, and relight when you next sit down.
Can I return it?
No. Incense is a consumable and this item is non-returnable. If something arrives damaged, write to us and we will make it right.
Burn safely: Always burn in a heat-proof holder on a stable, non-flammable surface, in a well-ventilated room. Never leave a burning stick, bomb or disk unattended. Keep away from children, pets, curtains and anything that catches. Smoke-cleansing products give off a lot of smoke — start away from smoke detectors. Store dry and out of direct sun. A ritual object, not a remedy: traditional associations described here are traditions of association, not claims of physical or psychological effect, and nothing here is medical advice.
