How to use it

Set the stick in a heat-proof holder on a stable surface, away from curtains and anything that catches.

Light the tip, let it flame, then blow it out. You want the ember, not the flame.

Open a window a hand-width. These are thick sticks and the smoke is generous.

Fifteen minutes is a full ritual. Put it out, keep the rest of the hour for another night.

✨ Temple Tip — an hour is longer than you think
Most people light a stick, mean to sit for ten minutes, and then leave the room with an hour of smoke still burning behind them. Extinguish it deliberately when you are done — sand or a heat-proof dish, no water — and the same stick will carry you through three or four Mondays instead of one.

Do I have to burn it on a Monday?
No. Monday is the traditional association for the Moon, not a rule. The stick behaves the same on a Thursday.
How long does one stick last?
About 60 minutes of continuous burn, and it is designed to be extinguished and relit, so one stick usually covers several shorter sessions.
What does it smell like?
Yagra is the aroma the maker lists for the Moon stick. Because every stick is rolled by hand, intensity varies a little from one to the next.
Can I put one out and relight it?
Yes — that is how the maker intends them to be used. Press the lit end gently into sand or a heat-proof dish, let it cool, and relight when you next sit down.
Can I return it?
No. Incense is a consumable and this item is non-returnable. If something arrives damaged, write to us and we will make it right.
