In short
The Polished Labradorite Freeform is a fully polished stone sculpture by Rare Earth Gallery, cut from Madagascan labradorite. Freeforms are cut to follow the flash rather than to a fixed shape, so each piece differs; the blue, gold, and green sheen is labradorescence, an optical effect caused by light reflecting between internal layers rather than by pigment. It is placed where people move past it and lit from one direction, since the flash appears only at certain angles. Prices run from $61.95 to $73.95 depending on size, for the freeform alone. Sizes and shapes are assorted, and labradorite is a feldspar that cleaves along flat planes, so it does not take knocks well.
