How to use it

Use a heat-proof dish with sand. Pyramids burn down into their own base and get hot underneath. Sand or ash protects the surface.

Start away from smoke detectors. These produce a generous amount of smoke. Well-ventilated room, window open, detector considered.

How is a pyramid different from an incense stick?
Shorter and much smokier. A stick gives you about an hour of gentle fragrance; a pyramid gives 20–30 minutes of rich cleansing smoke. Different tool, different job.
How much smoke is 'a generous amount'?
Enough that the maker warns about it directly. Begin your practice in a well-ventilated area and away from smoke detectors — this is not a stick you can burn absent-mindedly in a closed room.
What is inca yuyo?
One of the seven botanicals in the 7 Herbs blend, alongside eucalyptus, cedar, rosemary, rue, copal and sage. The maker lists it as part of the traditional deep-cleansing mix.
What do I burn it in?
A heat-proof incense holder with an ash catcher, on a stable non-flammable surface. Never leave a burning stick unattended, and keep it clear of curtains, drafts and anything that can catch.
