At a glance
- 30 thick incense sticks per box
-
About one hour each — around thirty hours per box
-
Citronella and palo santo — bright over grounding
- Handmade, hand-rolled and hand-packaged
- Made for refreshing and focusing a space
How to use it
-
Burn it in the morning, not at night. Citronella is a waking scent and it will fight a bedtime routine.
-
Heat-proof holder on a stable surface, in a ventilated room.
-
Good for a room that has gone stale — a study, a home office, a flat after a closed weekend.
-
Fifteen minutes clears a small room. Extinguish in sand and keep the rest.
-
Store the box closed and dry. Thirty sticks lose their edge in an open box.
✨ Temple Tip — citronella indoors is not the same as citronella outdoors
The citronella most people know is the outdoor candle kind, where it is doing a job and smelling like it. Inside, blended with palo santo and burned slowly, it reads as clean and green rather than functional. If citronella has put you off before, this is not that.
Questions we get asked
How many sticks come in the box?
Thirty thick sticks, each designed to burn for approximately one hour.
Will it repel insects?
We make no claim of any kind about that. It is an incense, sold for its scent.
Is it a strong scent?
Bright and forward, yes — citronella is not a subtle material. The palo santo gives it weight so it does not read as sharp.
Can I put one out and relight it?
Yes — that is how the maker intends them to be used. Press the lit end gently into sand or a heat-proof dish, let it cool, and relight when you next sit down.
Do I need a holder?
Yes. Use a heat-proof holder or ash catcher on a stable, non-flammable surface, in a ventilated room, and never leave a burning stick unattended.
Burn safely: Always burn in a heat-proof holder on a stable, non-flammable surface, in a well-ventilated room. Never leave a burning stick, bomb or disk unattended. Keep away from children, pets, curtains and anything that catches. Smoke-cleansing products give off a lot of smoke — start away from smoke detectors. Store dry and out of direct sun. A ritual object, not a remedy: traditional associations described here are traditions of association, not claims of physical or psychological effect, and nothing here is medical advice.
