How to use it
-
Light it at the start of a sitting, not partway through. The scent is a signal, and signals work best at boundaries.
-
Use it in the evening. Warm woods deepen as the light drops, where citrus thins out.
-
Let it run in the background rather than paying attention to it — sandalwood does not need to be noticed to do its job.
-
Keep one box as your baseline. If you burn incense regularly, sandalwood is the constant against which everything else reads.

✨ Temple Tip — the baseline scent
If you burn incense often enough to have a rotation, one note should stay constant so the others have something to be measured against. Sandalwood is the usual choice — familiar enough not to distract, deep enough not to get boring. Keep a box of it even when you are working through more interesting things.
