How to choose a candle spell kit
A spell kit is a candle plus everything the ritual around it needs, boxed so that nothing has to be sourced separately at the last minute. Thirty-four of the thirty-five pieces on this page are assembled by Parlour of Wonders from hand-poured beeswax; the thirty-fifth, the Inner Eye Intuition Spell Kit at $15.95, is curated by Mystic Soul Ritual Shop and uses a blue chime candle rather than a figural. What every kit shares is the part that matters to a beginner: written instructions. Loose supplies assume you already know the sequence. A kit hands you the sequence. Candle magic for beginners covers what the practice needs before you buy anything at all.
What is in the box, and where it varies
The standard build is one candle, three herbs matched to the working, one dressed oil and printed instructions. Most kits here follow it exactly. The ones that do not are worth knowing before you order. The Wheel of the Year Wishes kit carries eight herbs and curios rather than three, one for each sabbat, plus a cotton bag for the remains. The Mermaid Magick kit adds sea salt and six cowrie shells. The Love Wishes kit comes with a brass taper holder and an inscribing nail. Both separation kits include a forged nail for carving names into the wax. And the Burst of Brilliance Ruzha kit at $25.95 uses an oil by Madame Pamita and includes a cotton cloth bag. If a kit needs anything from you, it is ordinary: a heat-safe dish, a lighter and a pen.
Read the shape first, then the color
The figure carries the theme and the color narrows it. Four families run through the range. Tarot figures suit anyone who already reads cards and wants a candle that matches a spread — The Fool, The High Priestess, The Empress, The Chariot, The Lovers, The Star, The Moon and The Sun, all $43.95 and all 3.75 inches of cast beeswax. The Major Arcana explained sets out what each card is actually for.
Protective seals and marks are the traditional defensive workings: the Pentacle of Protection at $39.95, the Seal of Solomon at $36.95, and the Rozetka six-petal rosette at $43.95 — a 10-inch pillar that burns roughly 30 to 40 hours, built for sustained house protection rather than one evening. On the symbol itself, see pentacle versus pentagram.
Figural candles are sympathetic magic, where the wax stands in for a person: the Female Figural kit at $41.95, at 7.5 inches the tallest single candle in the range; the Eight Day Skull Taper at $46.95; the Goddess of Willendorf at $50.95, with the longest burn here at roughly 36 hours; and the paired candles of the Smooth Separation kit at $66.95 and the Deluxe Smooth Separation kit at $126.95. Separation work asks something of you first — love spells and consent and the cord-cutting ritual are the honest reading before either of those goes in a basket.
Folk, seasonal and goddess pieces sit closest to celebration and to specific traditions. The Magic Fish and Fortuna kits are wishing and luck work at $43.95 and $36.95; the Proud Lion at $36.95 is courage as composure rather than charge; the Snake of Transformation at $39.95 is a carved cube for outgrowing a pattern (see snake symbolism); the Binding Knot at $39.95 both joins and stops, depending on the petition (the witch's knot explains the mark); the Plant Spirit leaf candle at $39.95 is garden and houseplant work; the Door of Opportunity at $36.95 is the moment before a change; the Veil of Secrets at $46.95 is the rare kit worked for two opposite intentions; the Living Fire kit at $36.95 draws on the Ukrainian zhyvyy vohon tradition; and the two seasonal pieces are the Winter Solstice kit at $41.95 and the Wheel of the Year Wishes kit at $36.95 (background in winter solstice rituals and the eight sabbats).
The color key is not universal
Thirty of the thirty-five pieces here offer ten colors, and the labels are written per kit rather than shop-wide. Black is Protection almost everywhere. Beyond that it drifts: green is Prosperity on the Seal of Solomon and Growth on The Moon; blue is Communication on The Lovers, Reconciliation on the Female Figural, Healing on the Seven Knob and Tranquility on The Star; white runs Cleansing, Clarity, Blessing or Blessings depending on the piece. Two kits rewrite the key entirely — on the Veil of Secrets every color is a kind of secret, and on both separation kits every color is a kind of parting. Choose from the dropdown of the kit you are actually buying, not from a key you carry over. Candle color meanings gives the traditional correspondences these kits mostly, but not always, follow.
Five pieces have no color choice at all: the Inner Eye Intuition kit, which is a fixed blue chime candle with charoite and blue lotus; the Love Wishes kit, where the option is a set of three, five or seven tapers and the colors come with the set; and the three booster packs, which are a fixed color each.
One evening, or several days
Most kits here are a single sitting. Four are built to run longer, and the format is not optional — it is the working. The Seven Knob kit at $51.95 burns one knob a day for seven days, either seven separate wishes or one intention returned to seven times. The Eight Day Skull Taper at $46.95 is an 11-inch stacked column worked across eight days, the format practitioners use for ancestor work — how to start ancestor work is the companion read, and the taper needs a holder you supply. The Love Wishes kit runs one inscribed heart per day across a three-, five- or seven-candle set, $50.95 to $96.95. And the Deluxe Smooth Separation kit is a seven-day ritual across four figure candles. Buy these only if you can commit the days. When to start a spell and how long a spell takes cover the timing questions that follow.
Boosters are on this page too, and they are not kits
Three of the thirty-five listings here are booster packs, all $33.95 and all add-ons rather than complete workings: Empowerment for success, career and boundary work, Healing for rest and repair, and Miracles for workings where you want to stop forcing the outcome. Each holds four beeswax thick tapers, two ritual herbs, a named oil and a tumbled gemstone. They turn a single-candle spell into a multi-day one. No kit needs one to be complete — the full booster range sits in Candle Spell Boosters.

Burning them safely
Beeswax figurals are hand-poured and irregular, so they do not burn to a predictable schedule. Set them on a heatproof dish rather than directly on wood or cloth, keep them clear of anything that can catch, and never leave one unattended — the multi-day kits in particular tempt people to leave a flame going overnight, which the instructions explicitly warn against. Dress the wax with the oil before the first lighting and keep the oil off the wick itself; oil at the wick is a fire risk, not a stronger intention. How to dress a candle with oil and how to write a petition paper cover the two steps people most often improvise; beeswax versus paraffin explains why these burn the way they do, flame behavior and a candle burning black answer what people ask mid-burn, and leftover wax and disposing of ritual offerings deal with the remains. Candle work is traditionally used for focus, ritual structure and intention-setting. Any effect beyond that is not scientifically established, and nothing here is a substitute for medical, legal or financial advice.
Frequently asked questions
What is actually in a candle spell kit?
The standard build is one hand-poured beeswax figural candle, three herbs or curios chosen for that specific working, one bottle of consecrated dressing oil, and printed step-by-step instructions. Several kits differ and it is worth checking before you order: the Wheel of the Year Wishes kit carries eight herbs, one per sabbat, plus a cotton bag; the Mermaid Magick kit adds sea salt and six cowrie shells; the Love Wishes kit includes a brass taper holder and an inscribing nail; both Smooth Separation kits include a forged nail for carving names; and the Inner Eye Intuition kit is a different build altogether — a blue chime candle, charoite and blue lotus, curated by Mystic Soul Ritual Shop rather than Parlour of Wonders.
Does the color mean the same thing in every kit?
No, and this is the single most common mistake. Thirty of the thirty-five pieces here offer ten colors, and the labels are re-written per kit: blue is “Communication” on The Lovers, “Reconciliation” on the Female Figural, “Healing” on the Seven Knob and “Tranquility” on The Star. Two kits rewrite the key entirely — on the Veil of Secrets every color names a kind of secret, and on the separation kits every color names a kind of parting. Read the dropdown of the kit in front of you rather than applying a universal color key. Five listings have no color option at all: the Inner Eye kit, the Love Wishes kit, which is chosen by set size instead, and the three booster packs.
Which kit suits a first candle spell?
A single-candle kit in the $36.95 to $43.95 range — the Seal of Solomon, the Pentacle of Protection or one of the eight tarot figures. One candle, one burn, one set of instructions. Leave the multi-candle and multi-day work for later: the Smooth Separation kits use two or four figure candles plus a forged nail, and the Seven Knob, Eight Day Skull Taper, Love Wishes and Deluxe Separation kits all run across consecutive days, which is more sequence to hold than a first ritual needs. If you would rather start below $30, the Inner Eye Intuition kit at $15.95 is the smallest complete set on the page.
How long does a kit take to work through?
Most are a single sitting or a single evening. Four are structurally longer and the format is the point rather than an option: the Seven Knob kit burns one knob per day across seven days, the Eight Day Skull Taper runs across eight, the Love Wishes kit burns one inscribed heart per day across a three-, five- or seven-candle set, and the Deluxe Smooth Separation kit is a seven-day ritual across four figure candles. Two pieces are long in burn time rather than in schedule: the Rozetka rosette pillar runs roughly 30 to 40 hours and the Goddess of Willendorf figure roughly 36.
Why do prices run from $15.95 to $126.95?
Component count, almost entirely. The $36.95 to $46.95 kits hold one candle, three herbs and one oil. The $66.95 Smooth Separation kit holds two figure candles and a forged nail; the $126.95 Deluxe version holds four figure candles, four herbs and two oils. The Seven Knob kit at $51.95 buys seven days of burn in one candle, and the Love Wishes kit runs $50.95 to $96.95 depending on whether you take three, five or seven tapers. At the other end, the $25.95 Ruzha kit and the $15.95 Inner Eye kit are simply smaller sets. You are paying for material and for days, not for a stronger spell.
Are the booster packs part of a kit or sold separately?
Separately, and three of them are listed on this page: Empowerment, Healing and Miracles, each $33.95. A booster is not a spell kit — it holds four beeswax thick tapers, two ritual herbs, a named oil and a tumbled gemstone, and it is added to a kit you already own to turn a single-candle spell into a multi-day working. Every kit here is complete as sold, so a booster is a way to re-aim or extend one, never a missing part of it. The full range sits in the Candle Spell Boosters collection. Candle work is traditionally used for focus and intention-setting; any effect beyond that is not scientifically established.
