Bedside and nightstand: three jobs for one small surface
Every piece on this page names the bedside or the nightstand in its own product text. Sorted that way, a nightstand turns out to do three different jobs: it holds something you pick up, something that gives light, and something that catches what comes off you at night. Knowing which one you are shopping for makes the choice quick, and the surface itself decides the size.
Something to hold
These are the smallest and least expensive pieces here, and the only ones that ever leave the room. The Howlite Comfort Stone ($6.95) is traditionally kept under the pillow or on the nightstand. Amethyst comes in three sizes: the small A+ tumbled stone ($2.95), the tumbled pocket stone ($4.95), which is placed on the bedside table overnight, and the polished Amethyst Palm Stone ($14.95), kept “somewhere you return to rather than somewhere it is displayed”. The Calm Trio of amethyst, apatite and howlite ($8.99) is set on the nightstand as part of winding down. Also here: the moonstone tumbled stone ($4.95) for a new chapter, the peach selenite sphere ($5.95), kept where the morning light catches it, the Snowflake Obsidian Point ($19.95), The Cleansing Stone in fluorite ($17.95) for a nightly gratitude practice, and the one-inch Pocket Mini Brass Statues ($12.95; Ganesha currently sold out), set by the bed as the last thing you see. Two non-stones belong to this group: the Healing Ritual Oil ($9.95), which its maker wants “by the bedside rather than on the altar” for a dab on the wrists at wind-down, and the Palo Santo Cleansing Spray ($18.95), kept by the bed for a smokeless pre-sleep reset.
Something that gives light
A crystal lamp does something at a bed that no candle can: it can stay on while you fall asleep. The Healing Lamp in clear quartz ($39.95) calls a bedside table “the usual choice” and is meant to be left on low. The amethyst Stress Less, Sleep More lamp ($59.95) is set to its lowest mode and left on as a night light; the Selenite Cleansing Lamp ($49.95, two for $79.95) answers “can I leave it on all night?” with a yes, and charges stones laid around its base overnight; the selenite My Aura Spa Mood Lamp with a hamsa ($59.95) dims across thirty settings down to a barely-there glow. Flame is for the hours you are awake: the Kira glass lanterns (set of two, $92.95) are 8 cm high, “small enough for a bedside”; a single leather-wrapped candle holder (from $22.95) works as a bedside light; the carved soapstone oil burner ($42.95) stands 3.5 inches; and the Eve incense holder (from $34.95) needs three inches of surface.
Something to catch what you take off
The least mystical part of the page, and usually the most used. The Oval Jewel Box in carved wood and green serpentine ($161.95) is made for “rings, earrings, a small pendant, airpods, whatever accumulates on a nightstand”, with the one rule that matters: keep it where you undress. The Round Jewel Box with black onyx ($150.95) is a lidded catchall that does not look like storage. The Blue Angelite Catchall ($68.95) is a small dish beside the bed for rings and earrings; angelite is soft, so keep it away from edges and never wash it. The Selenite Charging Plate ($9.95, 10 cm) takes a ring or a mala overnight — handy for the Crystal Point Pendant Necklace ($18.95), whose care note says to take it off before sleeping. For a larger nightstand, the black marble Tauro tray ($173.95) and the travertine Less is More tray ($231.95) both name the bedside.
Sizing for the surface
At a nightstand the surface sets the size, and two to four inches is the working range. The Flower Agate Tower ($24.95) stands 3.25 to 4 inches, “small enough for a bedside table”; the Crystal Obelisk Towers come in 4–5, 5–6 and 7–8 cm (from $17.95); the Rainbow Fluorite Point ($14.95), the Crystal Snakes (about 2 inches, $18.95) and the Crystal Skulls (1.5–2 inches, $19.95) all list the bedside among their places. The 80 mm Lapis Lazuli Sphere ($153.95) is the heavier choice for one fixed spot, and the Rose Quartz Obelisk (from $110.95, 4.2 to 5.5 inches tall) is meant for the shared side of the bed.

Frequently asked questions
What crystals are traditionally kept on a nightstand?
Amethyst and howlite are the classic pair. Howlite is traditionally kept under the pillow or on the nightstand, tumbled amethyst on the bedside table overnight, and the Calm Trio of amethyst, apatite and howlite on the nightstand as part of winding down. A crystal lamp combines the stone and the night light in one piece.
Can I leave a crystal lamp on all night?
The lamps on this page are described for exactly that. The Healing Lamp is meant to be left on low while you sleep, the Stress Less, Sleep More lamp is set to its lowest mode as a night light, and the Selenite Cleansing Lamp answers the question with a plain yes.
Is it safe to burn a candle or incense on a nightstand?
Only while you are awake and in the room. Keep any flame clear of bedding, curtains and books, use a stable heat-proof holder, and put it out before you lie down. That is why the lamps exist: they are the light that can stay on.
What size fits a nightstand?
Roughly two to four inches for anything that stands. The agate tower is 3.25 to 4 inches, the soapstone burner 3.5 inches, the glass lanterns 8 cm high, the incense holder three inches across. Taller pieces start competing with a lamp and a glass of water.
Where should I put my rings and jewelry at night?
Somewhere at the bed rather than in a drawer, since a dish only works where your hands already are. A lidded jewel box, the angelite catchall or the selenite charging plate all take rings and earrings overnight. Keep angelite and selenite dry; both are soft and water-sensitive.
Should crystals go on the nightstand or on an altar?
Pieces you use every day belong at the bed. The maker of the Healing Ritual Oil says to keep it by the bedside rather than on the altar, and the amethyst palm stone is kept somewhere you return to rather than somewhere it is displayed. An altar is for what you visit; a nightstand is for what your hand reaches without thinking.
