Ceramic wrapped in recycled leather, made in Tamasloht, a village outside Marrakech where this craft has been passed between hands for generations. The leather is stretched wet and dries tight to the form, so no two wraps sit exactly alike.

It holds a standard taper and asks nothing else of you. On a table it reads warm rather than formal — the kind of object that makes a weeknight dinner feel deliberate.

At a glance

  • Ceramic body wrapped in recycled leather by hand
  • Made by craftsmen in Tamasloht, Marrakech
  • Fits standard taper candles
  • Available in three sizes — group them or stand one alone
  • Leather patina deepens with time
  • Two colors — listed in full below

How to use it

Set your taper firmly into the cup. If it wobbles, warm the candle base slightly and press it in — the softened wax seats it.

Keep the flame away from the leather edge and never leave a burning candle unattended. Wipe the ceramic with a dry cloth; leave the leather alone, it improves untouched.

✨ Temple Tip

Buy them in odd numbers and different heights. Three holders at three heights on one tray reads intentional; two matching ones read like a place setting.

Colors available

Each holder is wrapped in one color.

  • White
  • Terracota

Questions we get asked

What candle size fits?

Standard tapers. If yours is slightly narrow, a wax collar or a drop of melted wax in the cup will seat it steadily.

Is the leather treated?

It is recycled leather, minimally finished. Keep it dry and it will darken gently over the years.

Which size should I choose?

Three sizes are offered. Mixed heights look best in a group; a single piece works well as a bedside light.

Can I clean the leather?

Only dust it. Water and cleaners will mark it.

Old craft, plain purpose, warm light. #TempleOfDesire

In short

The Leather-Wrapped Candle Holder is a ceramic taper candle holder wrapped by hand in recycled leather. It is made in Tamasloht, a village outside Marrakech, where the leather is stretched wet over the ceramic body and dries tight to the form, so no two wraps sit identically. It holds a standard taper candle and is used on dining tables, shelves and bedside surfaces, often grouped at mixed heights. Three sizes are offered in white and terracotta, priced from $22.95 to $27.95 per holder. The leather is minimally finished and darkens with age; it should be kept dry and dusted rather than cleaned with water.
