Chakra pieces: four different ways an object can be “chakra”
The seven-center system is old, but objects sold under its name map onto the body in four different ways, and knowing which one you are holding tells you what it is for. Some pieces here work by color, some by stone, some by scent and one by pitch. Thirteen pieces are in stock, from $7.95 to $385.95 — four of them carry all seven centers at once, the rest pick one. If the whole framework is new to you, the seven chakras explained is the place to start; everything below assumes only that you know there are seven.
Start from the center, not from the object
Almost nobody arrives at a chakra page with a shopping list. People arrive with a symptom — can’t speak up at work, can’t settle at night, can’t finish anything — and the traditional system reads those as locations rather than moods. So the useful order is: name the center, read what it is traditionally associated with, then see what is actually here for it. The last column is the honest one.
| Center | Sanskrit | Color | Traditionally associated with | What is here for it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Root | Muladhara | Red | Safety, money worry, feeling unanchored | Two candles, $28.95: Red Jasper, Black Tourmaline |
| Sacral | Svadhisthana | Orange | Creativity, appetite, intimacy | Nothing on its own — only inside the $29.95 seven-stone set |
| Solar plexus | Manipura | Yellow | Confidence, boundaries, deciding | Nothing on its own — only inside the $29.95 seven-stone set |
| Heart | Anahata | Green, pink | Giving, and the harder half: receiving | Two candles, $28.95: Rose Quartz, Peridot |
| Throat | Vishuddha | Blue | Saying the thing plainly | Two candles, $28.95: Amazonite, Blue Kyanite — plus the G3 bowl |
| Third eye | Ajna | Indigo | Intuition, pattern recognition | Nothing single-center in this collection |
| Crown | Sahasrara | Violet, white | Perspective, connection beyond the self | Nothing single-center in this collection |
Read down that last column and the shape of the range is obvious: the candles reach three of the seven centers — root, heart and throat, two candles each — and the bowl reaches a fourth by way of the throat again. Three centers have no dedicated object here at all. That is worth saying plainly rather than letting the collection imply otherwise.
The three gaps can be filled from the wider shop, for under $15 each
A candle is not the only way to work a center, and it is by some distance the most expensive one. Every center in the table can be covered by a single stone held in the hand, and most of them cost less than a cocktail. These sit in Crystals & Stones rather than in this collection, which is why they are easy to miss:
- Root — Tiger Eye tumbled pebbles at $1.95, or a smoky quartz tumbled stone at $4.95. The $14.95 Russian shungite palm stone is listed here but sold out.
- Sacral — the real gap. There is no loose carnelian in the shop; the only carnelian at all is strung into a $147.95 mala. For this center the $29.95 seven-stone set below is the practical route.
- Solar plexus — the two single stones usually named for this center, natural citrine and golden aventurine, are both sold out as this is written. Pyrite at $5.95 is the traditional stand-in, and the $8.99 Abundance Trio holds citrine, pyrite and green aventurine together — less than the two singles cost separately.
- Heart — malachite at $12.95, or the rose quartz set at $29.95.
- Throat — blue apatite at $6.95 — listed, currently sold out — or blue tiger’s eye at $4.95.
- Third eye — amethyst at $4.95 or labradorite at $6.95; the whole range is in Amethyst.
- Crown — clear quartz at $6.95 or a 3-inch selenite stick at $4.95; the loose selenite tumbled stone is sold out.
Six of the seven, bought one stone each at the cheapest option listed above, come to $35.70 all in — about the price of one candle. That is not an argument against the candles, which do something a pebble cannot; it is an argument against believing you need to spend $200 to start. If you want to lay them out together afterwards, how to make a crystal grid covers the arrangement.
Four pieces carry all seven centers — at $7.95, $26.95, $29.95 and $126.95
A sixteenfold spread for the same completeness, and the extra money buys durability rather than coverage. The rose-petal sage bundle ($7.95, four inches, rainbow petals in the seven colors) is gone after a few burns. The incense set ($26.95) lasts seven sittings, one stick per center. The bracelet and stone set ($29.95) pairs a lotus-motif bracelet with one loose stone per center — red jasper, red agate, calcite, citrine, aventurine, amethyst and clear quartz, with sodalite in the bracelet only — and lasts as long as its cord. The sterling chakra bar earrings ($126.95), seven bezel-set stones on a vertical bar, outlast all of it and will still be here in twenty years.
The $7.95 bundle teaches the sequence exactly as well as the $126.95 pair does. What changes is how long the reminder stays in the room. If you are choosing between the bracelet and the earrings on practical grounds, which wrist to wear a crystal bracelet on is the question people ask next.
The six candles are identical apart from the stone
All six come from Shakti SOULutions, hand-poured in small batches in the mountains of Colorado: a 7.5 oz lead-free American-made glass tumbler you keep, American-sourced soy and coconut wax with no paraffin, an organic beeswax-coated hemp wick, and up to 60 hours of burn. Each is topped with its own mineral plus a clear quartz point from Arkansas charged under a full moon, and each offers two crystal styles — Crescent Moon or Full Moon — both including the quartz point. Same build, same $28.95, so the only real decision is which center you are working with. One difference worth knowing: the peridot candle is completely unscented; the others are not.
At $28.95 for up to sixty hours that is about 48 cents an hour — roughly five times the cost of a seven-day vigil candle and more than double a 16 oz altar candle, which is what you are paying for the stone, the glass and the small batch. Crystal candles vs. deity candles sets out the difference between this format and the image-fronted kind, and the rest of the range sits in Crystal Candles. Trim the wick to a quarter inch before every burn and let the first burn reach the edge of the glass, or soy will tunnel for the life of the candle.
The incense set uses the maker’s pairings, not the common ones
Seven sticks, one per center, in classical ritual materials. It is the cheapest way to give a home practice a shape, which is usually what a home practice is missing: one stick a day, in order, same hour, seven days, and note which day you resist. Extinguish each stick in sand rather than letting it burn out and a set lasts far longer.
| Center | Scent in this set |
|---|---|
| Crown | Sandalwood |
| Third eye | Lavender |
| Throat | Copal |
| Heart | Rosemary |
| Solar plexus | Palo santo |
| Sacral | Myrrh |
| Root | Roses |
Two of these are not the usual assignments. Sandalwood at the crown and lavender at the third eye are conventional, but most Western lists put rose at the heart and myrrh or something resinous at the root — this maker inverts that pair. Neither version is more correct than the other; there is no single authority here, which is exactly why the maker’s own table is printed above rather than a generic one. If you want the scent logic that governs a different tradition entirely, planetary incense by day of the week runs on planets rather than centers. Burning seven days in a row in a small apartment is its own problem — burning incense in an apartment covers smoke and alarms.
The bowl, the oil and the pendulum
The 12″ crystal singing bowl, $385.95. This is the only piece on the page that maps to the body acoustically: nothing is colored or stone-coded, it is simply tuned to G3, the note traditionally linked to the throat. Worth knowing before you buy: it is tuned to 440 Hz concert pitch, not the 432 Hz that turns up constantly in sound-healing marketing — 432 Hz vs 440 Hz explains what that argument is actually about. High-purity quartz, white-frosted for a softer attack than a clear bowl of the same note. Set it on its cushion on something firm, never a rug, and circle the rim far more slowly than feels natural. More in Crystal Singing Bowls.
The balancing oil, $10.00. A single blend rather than a set of seven: basil and marigold in a coconut oil base under a sandalwood-rose scent, in a 1/2 oz glass bottle. It is anointed directly onto the body at the chakra points, or worked into meditation and yoga. The maker’s instruction is to work from the root upward rather than the crown down, which follows the direction most traditions teach and gives you a natural pause at the heart. At $10.00 it is the cheapest way into this collection after the sage bundle.
The triple moon chakra pendulum, $23.95. A faceted hexagonal point under a triple-moon pentacle chakra cap on an 8.86 inch chain — the working length, not a necklace length. Six stones are actually available: tiger’s eye, rose quartz, clear quartz, amethyst, black obsidian and opalite. A pendulum is often used to find which center feels blocked, and it is worth being clear about what it is doing: it makes the smallest movements of your own hand visible. That is genuinely useful for getting at what you already think, and it is not the stone’s opinion. How to use a pendulum covers calibration and why closed questions matter. More in Runes & Pendulums.
Keeping the stones, and what none of this is
The stones in the candles sit on the surface of the wax rather than around the wick, so they come out intact when the wax is gone — lift them out once the glass is cool, rinse with warm water, and they join the rest of your collection. From there, how to cleanse crystals and how to charge crystals cover the upkeep, with one warning that matters for a chakra set specifically: the amethyst in it fades in sunlight, so a windowsill is the worst place to charge it. See which crystals fade in sunlight. The sage bundle is a smudge stick and behaves like one — how to burn a smudge stick, and white sage, honestly on where the plant comes from and how to use it respectfully.
Candles, stones, incense and oils are traditionally used for focus, intention and reflection. Those are traditional uses rather than scientifically established effects, and nothing on this page diagnoses, treats or replaces medical or mental-health care. If a symptom is persistent, the right first step is a doctor, not a candle. Never leave a burning candle or a smoldering bundle unattended, and keep both away from drafts, children and pets.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know which chakra to work on?
Start from the symptom rather than the object. The traditional system reads a stuck area of life as a location: money worry and feeling unanchored at the root, blocked creativity at the sacral, low confidence and difficulty deciding at the solar plexus, trouble giving or receiving at the heart, not speaking up at the throat, and clouded intuition or perspective at the third eye and crown. The table above maps each one to what this collection actually holds, and the seven magazine guides go into each center in depth.
Which chakras do the six candles cover?
Root, heart and throat, two candles each at $28.95: red jasper and black tourmaline at the root, rose quartz and peridot at the heart, amazonite and blue kyanite at the throat. There is no candle here for the sacral, solar plexus, third eye or crown.
Is there anything for the sacral or solar plexus?
Not as a single-center piece in this collection. The $29.95 seven-stone bracelet set includes a stone for every center and is the practical route for both. Outside the collection, natural citrine or golden aventurine at $6.95 each are traditional solar-plexus stones. The sacral is the genuine gap: there is no loose carnelian in the shop at all, only carnelian beads strung into a $147.95 mala.
Why is the singing bowl a throat-chakra bowl?
Its note, and nothing else. The bowl is tuned to G3, the pitch traditionally linked to the throat; color and stone play no part. It is tuned to 440 Hz concert pitch rather than the 432 Hz often advertised in sound healing.
Are the six chakra candles different apart from the stone?
Barely. All six are the same 7.5 oz lead-free glass tumbler, the same American soy and coconut wax on an organic beeswax-coated hemp wick, the same up-to-60-hour burn and the same $28.95, each topped with its mineral plus a full-moon-charged Arkansas quartz point. The one real difference: the peridot candle is completely unscented, the other five are not.
Do I need all seven pieces to start?
No. Four single items already contain the full sequence, from $7.95. If you want the whole system cheaply, the $26.95 incense set gives you seven days with a shape; if you want to keep it, the $29.95 bracelet and stone set is the better buy. The single-center pieces are for working on one thing.
How is the balancing oil used, and how big is the bottle?
It is a 1/2 oz glass bottle of a single blend - basil and marigold in a coconut oil base under a sandalwood-rose scent - anointed directly onto the body at the chakra points, or added to meditation and yoga practice. The maker's instruction is to work from the root upward rather than the crown down.
