Collection: Moon & Lunar Magic
The lunar side holds two moons: the phase cycle in marble, ceramic and fabric — and the tarot card of the same name. Plus moonstone, two oracle decks and an $11.95 New Moon seven-day candle.
In short: the moon as a calendar, or the Moon as a state of mind — half this page is each.

Two different moons live on this page
This is the one thing worth knowing before you scroll, because it decides half the page for you. Some of these objects are about the phase cycle — a clock. New, waxing, full, waning, and what you do at each point. The marble and ceramic incense holders, the tapestries, the suncatcher, the journal and the New Moon candle all belong to that moon.
The others are about The Moon, the eighteenth card of the Major Arcana, which is a completely different idea: half-light, the subconscious, dream work, and knowing something before you can explain how you know it. The Moon oil candle and The Moon candle spell kit are tarot objects wearing a lunar name. They are not about the full moon on Thursday. If you searched for “moon candle” expecting a phase candle and landed on a card, that is why — and the New Moon seven-day candle at $11.95 is almost certainly the object you actually wanted.
Twenty-three pieces are live here, from $4.95 to $1,695.95, and that range is not a typo. More on the outlier further down.
The phase, the card and the triple moon — three symbols people mix up
A third symbol appears three times on this page and is not either of the first two. The triple moon — waxing crescent, full circle, waning crescent, side by side — is the Maiden, Mother and Crone, a goddess symbol rather than a calendar. It is on the triple moon goddess necklace at $17.95, the triple moon pentacle bracelet at $14.95 and the triple moon pentacle pendulum at $23.95.
The full phase cycle, by contrast, shows eight or more moons in sequence and is a picture of time passing. It is what you get on the moon phase tapestries and the moon phase suncatcher. If you want the goddess, one of the three triple-moon pieces; if you want the cycle, the tapestry or the suncatcher. Wicca for beginners covers where the triple moon comes from, and moon sign meaning explained is the one to read if what you actually wanted was your natal moon.
What a lunar flame costs to keep going
Four burnable objects, four very different economies:
| Object | Price | Burn | Per hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| the New Moon seven-day candle | $11.95 | ~168 h continuous | about 7¢ |
| Rainbow moonstone crystal candle | $28.95 | up to 60 h | about 48¢ |
| The Moon oil candle (3 oz) | $25.95 | 10–12 h per filling | see below |
| The Moon candle spell kit | $43.95 | 3.75″ beeswax figure | priced as a kit, not by the hour |
Two things that table does not say on its own. First, the cheapest object here gives you by far the most flame: the New Moon seven-day candle at $11.95 is the least expensive burnable on the page and works out to roughly seven cents an hour, which no other candle in the shop beats. Second, the oil candle’s hourly figure is misleading in the right direction — the price buys the lamp, not the burning. It is a refillable glass lamp with botanicals suspended in bio fuel; after the first filling the hourly cost is the price of lamp oil and the bottle is already paid for. Wax is spent, lamps are kept. More of both in Ritual Candles and Oil Candles.
The spell kit is a different category again: a beeswax cast of the card in ten colors, plus three herbs, a dressing oil and an instruction sheet. Candle color meanings explains what the ten colors mean, how to dress a candle with oil covers the oil step, and how to read a seven-day candle and what a cracked glass means are the two pieces people reach for once a seven-day candle is actually burning and doing something unexpected. Full kits sit in Candle Spell Kits; vigil candles in 7-Day Vigil Candles.
The two oracle decks, compared honestly
Both are lunar, both are oracle rather than tarot, and they are built for different people.
The Moon Witch Oracle at $23.95 holds 42 cards and its distinguishing feature is that every card carries a ritual or a spell, not just a meaning. If you want the deck to tell you what to do, this is the one. Moonology Oracle Cards at $29.95 is organized strictly by the lunar cycle — new, waxing, full, waning — and comes with a digital guidebook rather than a paper booklet that gets separated from the box. If you want the deck to track the month with you, take this one.
Six dollars separates them and the choice is about temperament rather than quality. Neither requires a tarot background. Tarot vs oracle cards sets out the actual difference between the two formats, how to read oracle cards is a beginner’s method, and if you are weighing a tarot deck alongside these, the best first tarot deck compared compares the three usual first decks. The rest of the shelf is in Tarot, Books & Divination.
Marble, ceramic, fabric: the phase cycle as an object
The incense holders are the most considered pieces here. The round Indukala holder at $38.95 is hand-carved white marble with brass inlay. The Jalini hamsa holder at $20.99 is hand-painted ceramic and combines the phase cycle with a hamsa. A third, the square-format carved marble Indukala at $42.95, is currently sold out — worth saying plainly, because the two marble pieces look near-identical in a search result and it is easy to spend a while on the one you cannot have.
the moon phase tapestries runs from $17.95 for 85×75 cm up to $72.95 for the largest, which makes it the cheapest way to put the full cycle on a wall. the moon phase suncatcher at $26.95 does the same job in a window and throws rainbows while doing it. The incense burner buyer’s guide is worth reading before you commit to a holder shape, and burning incense in an apartment matters if you burn indoors in a rental. More in Incense Burners & Holders, Incense Sticks and Wall Art & Tapestries.
For the incense itself, Moon Cosmos incense at $26.95 is the Monday stick from a seven-planet series — one per classical planet, about an hour of smoke each, meant to be burned in rhythm with the week rather than all at once. Planetary incense by day of the week explains the whole seven-day scheme.
Moonstone: which of these actually contains the stone
Moonstone is the lunar stone by tradition and it appears here in five places. The multi-color moonstone tumbled stone at $4.95 is the cheapest object on the page and the easiest way to own the stone at all. Rainbow moonstone crystal candle at $28.95 is an unscented soy candle topped with rainbow moonstone and a clear quartz point. The rainbow moonstone planchette ring at $108.95 is the statement piece, the hamsa hand bracelet set at $49.95 pairs moonstone with citrine and labradorite, and the sun and moon ear cuff at $28.95 works the sun-and-moon pairing instead.
One clarification that saves disappointment: rainbow moonstone is not, mineralogically, the same thing as classic moonstone — it is a labradorite that shows a blue-white flash, and the trade has used the name for so long that it is now simply what it is called. It is a real stone and a beautiful one; it is just not adularia. Real vs treated crystals is the wider guide to what names in this trade actually mean. For charging any of it, How to charge crystals covers whether the phase matters, and how to make moon water is the related practice people ask about most. Spiritual Jewelry and Crystal Candles hold the rest.
What this collection does not do for you
Three gaps, stated plainly.
Nothing here tells you when the moon is full. The Pathfinding Journal at $55.95 has a space to write the phase down, but there is no almanac, calendar or wheel in this shop that gives you the dates. Until there is, the full moon calendar for 2027 lists every full moon of 2027 with times and names, and the Harvest Moon and the Hunter’s Moon cover the two 2026 moons people ask about most. The new moon in Virgo ritual is the most recent worked example.
One product at $1,695.95 sits in a collection where the next most expensive item is $108.95. The 22-inch moon phases gong is a 22-inch Meinl Sonic Energy instrument and belongs to Sound & Vibration and Drums, Gongs & Bells far more than it belongs to a page most people arrive at looking for a $25 candle. It is not mispriced — it is simply a professional instrument that happens to be etched with moon phases. Filter accordingly.
Two moonstone pieces are unpublished drafts — an anklet-and-earrings set and a moonstone ring — so the jewelry side of this page is thinner than it should be, and the square marble incense holder above is out of stock. If jewelry is what you came for, Spiritual Jewelry, Bracelets and Rings & Earrings are fuller.
Where to go next: Clarity & Intuition for the intuition side, Ritual Candles for the flame, Tarot, Books & Divination for the cards, and Zodiac Candles if the sky rather than the moon is what you are following. The full moon ritual and the new moon ritual are the two step-by-step pieces worth having open before you buy anything at all — and “I felt nothing during the ritual” is for afterwards, when the honest answer is that nothing obvious happened.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the moon phase symbol and the triple moon?
They answer different questions. The full phase cycle — eight or more moons shown in sequence — is a picture of time: new, waxing, full, waning, and back again. The triple moon is three shapes only, a waxing crescent, a full circle and a waning crescent, and it represents the Maiden, Mother and Crone rather than a calendar. It is a goddess symbol with roots in modern Wicca. On this page the tapestries and the suncatcher carry the cycle; the necklace, bracelet and pendulum carry the triple moon.
Is “The Moon” candle about the moon or about the tarot card?
The tarot card. The Moon oil candle and The Moon candle spell kit are both built around the eighteenth card of the Major Arcana, which is about half-light, the subconscious, dream work and knowing something before you can explain it. They are not phase candles and they are not tied to a date. If you want a candle for an actual lunar event, the New Moon seven-day candle at $11.95 is the one — it is dressed for new moon intention work and burns for about a week.
What should I burn for a new moon ritual?
Something that lasts the window rather than the moment. The New Moon seven-day candle at $11.95 is built for exactly this: you light it on or just after the new moon and it carries the intention through the first week of the cycle, which is the part most people drop. An unscented candle works too if you already own one. The important thing is that the deciding happens before the lighting — a candle holds a decision, it does not make one for you.
How long does a seven-day moon candle burn?
Roughly 168 hours — about seven days of continuous burning — though the real figure moves with draft, wick and how level the glass is standing. At $11.95 that works out to around seven cents an hour, which makes it the least expensive sustained flame in the shop by a wide margin. Most people burn it in one unbroken stretch in a sink or a bathtub, on a heatproof surface, away from anything that can catch.
Which lunar oracle deck is better for a beginner?
Either, and they suit different temperaments. The Moon Witch Oracle at $23.95 gives every one of its 42 cards a ritual or a spell, so it tells you what to do as well as what the card means — useful if you want the deck to be active. Moonology at $29.95 is organized strictly by lunar phase and comes with a digital guidebook, so it works as a month-tracker as much as a reading deck. Neither needs any tarot background.
Can I charge crystals in moonlight, and does the phase matter?
Yes, and the phase matters less than most sources suggest. The full moon is the traditional choice and is simply the brightest and easiest to remember; a new moon works for anything you are starting rather than releasing. A windowsill overnight is the whole method. One practical caution: do not leave water-soluble stones outside where dew or rain can reach them, and do not leave colored stones in strong sun the next morning, because several common ones fade.
Is rainbow moonstone real moonstone?
It is a real stone but not the same mineral. Classic moonstone is adularia, a potassium feldspar with a soft blue-white sheen. Rainbow moonstone is a white labradorite that shows a similar flash, and the trade has used the name for long enough that it is now standard. Nobody is misleading you by calling it that — it is simply worth knowing if you are comparing it to a piece sold as plain moonstone, because they are different feldspars at different prices.
Do I have to do a ritual on the exact night of the full moon?
No. The influence is usually treated as covering roughly a day either side, and in practice people work the evening that is actually available to them. A full moon ritual done on the Saturday after is not a failed ritual. What tends to matter more is that you do the same thing at the same point in a few consecutive cycles, because the practice is cumulative — the specific hour is far less important than the repetition.
