The Star is the seventeenth card of the Major Arcana — the quiet card that follows the storm, standing for hope, faith and a sense of being guided.
This kit builds a candle spell around that archetype. The candle itself is a beeswax cast of the card, molded in relief and offered in ten colors so you can match the wax to the shade of your intention: pale blue for serenity, green for renewal, white for clarity, black to release what is finished.
Everything the spell needs comes in the box — the candle, three herbs chosen for work of this kind, a dressing oil, and a printed instruction sheet written plainly enough for a first spell and specific enough for a hundredth. Nothing else is required.

What this kit is for
| Hope & faith | Work for trust in the direction things are moving, and for optimism after a difficult stretch. |
| Renewal | Spiritual and emotional restoration — recovery, inner quiet, a return to yourself. |
| Inspiration & serenity | Reflection, alignment with your own purpose, and the calm that makes that alignment audible. |
How to use it
- Choose the color that matches your intention, not the card. The table below is the working key.
- Name the work. Say plainly what the spell is for, in one sentence, before you touch the candle.
- Dress the candle with the oil, then the herbs, following the printed instruction sheet in the box.
- Set it on a heatproof surface — a plate or holder, which is not included — clear of anything that can catch.
- Burn it in one sitting or across several, snuffing rather than blowing it out if you intend to relight. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

✨ Temple Tip
The Star is a card of aftermath, not of crisis. Practitioners tend to get more out of it when it is burned after the difficult thing has passed rather than in the middle of it — as a closing rite rather than a rescue. If you are still in the storm, many readers reach for a protection or road-opening candle first and keep The Star for the week afterwards.

Questions people ask
What exactly is in the box?
A beeswax candle cast in the shape of The Star tarot card in the color you choose, three herbs selected for this type of work, one dressing oil, and a printed instruction sheet. You supply a heatproof holder or plate.
Which color should I pick?
Match the color to the intention rather than to the card. Pale blue is used for serenity and clear speech, green for renewal, yellow for optimism, white for clarity and general blessing, black for release and protection, brown for steadiness, pink for self-directed compassion, red for courage, orange for fresh energy, purple for reflection.
How long does the candle burn?
Parlour of Wonders does not publish a burn time for this candle, so we will not invent one. It is a 3.75" solid beeswax cast, and practitioners commonly burn a candle of this size over several sittings rather than in one go. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Do I need experience with candle magic?
No. The instruction sheet takes you through the whole sequence step by step. If you would like more background before you start, our journal has pieces on timing a candle and on reading the burn.
Is the candle scented?
No. It is 100% pure beeswax with no fragrance, essential oil or herbs added, on a lead-free cotton wick. Beeswax carries a faint natural honey note of its own and nothing else.
