Air moves, and so does Gemini. The twins are the sign of the storyteller and the question-asker, of a mind that would rather hold two ideas than settle for one. LOGOS built this candle as an altar piece for that restlessness: a clear glass bottle, a cotton wick, and dried botanicals suspended in clean bio fuel.

The scent is herbaceous and open rather than sweet - white sage over soft lavender, the kind of air that clears a room without filling it. It suits a desk as easily as an altar, which is rather the point with a sign that works best while it is thinking out loud.

At a glance

  • Refillable glass oil candle with dried botanicals set into the fuel
  • Scent: White Sage & Lavender
  • Clean bio fuel — soot-free and made for indoor use
  • Three sizes: 3 oz, 6 oz and 12 oz
  • Burn time: roughly 10–12 h (3 oz) to 35–40 h (12 oz), per LOGOS
  • Made for rituals of creativity, clarity and expression
  • A note on the scent: The flowing description on LOGOS' sheet names Black Violet, Saffron & Vanilla. The spec line, the Air Trio listing and the product photograph all say White Sage & Lavender, so that is what we print.

How to use it

Fill the bottle with lamp oil to just below the shoulder, let the wick soak for a few minutes before the first lighting, and keep the botanicals under the oil line. Light it when you are writing, studying, planning, or trying to say a difficult thing well. Snuff it rather than blowing it out.

An oil candle does not use itself up the way wax does. The cotton wick draws fuel rather than burning away with it, so there is no tunneling, no wax left in the bottom, and no wick to trim. When the level drops, you top it up and the same bottle carries on.

Burn on a level, heat-proof surface, away from drafts and anything that can catch. Never leave a lit flame unattended, never move the bottle while it is hot, and keep it out of reach of children and pets.

Choosing a size

Size Burn time (LOGOS estimate) Suits
3 oz approx. 10–12 hours a single working, a bedside table, a small altar
6 oz approx. 18–22 hours a weekly practice, a desk or mantelpiece
12 oz approx. 35–40 hours longer rituals, a main altar, a living room

✨ Temple Tip

Refill it before it runs dry, not after. A wick that burns down into an empty bottle chars, and a charred wick is something you go on smelling in the room long after the flame is out. Top it up while there is still oil in the bottom and the candle stays as clean on its fortieth lighting as its first.

Questions we get asked

Is it really refillable?

Yes. It takes standard liquid lamp oil or paraffin lamp fuel. The wick is cotton and is not consumed by the flame, so the bottle is designed to be used again rather than replaced.

What does it smell like?

White Sage & Lavender. The flowing description on LOGOS' sheet names Black Violet, Saffron & Vanilla. The spec line, the Air Trio listing and the product photograph all say White Sage & Lavender, so that is what we print.

How long does one filling last?

LOGOS estimates roughly 10–12 hours for the 3 oz, 18–22 for the 6 oz and 35–40 for the 12 oz. Treat these as estimates — draft, wick height and room temperature all move the number.

Does it soot or leave residue?

It burns on clean bio fuel and is made for indoor use. Because nothing is consumed but the fuel, there is no wax pooling, no tunneling and no wick to trim — the usual reasons a candle starts to smoke do not apply here.

Which size should I start with?

The 6 oz is the sensible first purchase: long enough for a real evening, small enough to keep on a desk. Take the 3 oz if it is for one specific working, the 12 oz if it will be the main light on an altar.

California Proposition 65 warning: Burning this product produces combustion by-products. Use in a well-ventilated space.

To go further

In short

The Gemini Oil Candle is a refillable zodiac oil candle from LOGOS Candles. It is a refillable clear glass bottle holding clean bio fuel with dried botanicals suspended in it, drawn by a self-sustaining cotton wick. It is scented with White Sage and Lavender — herbaceous rather than sweet — and is used for writing, studying, planning and expression, on a desk as readily as on an altar. It is offered in 3 oz for $25.95, 6 oz for $37.95 and 12 oz for $63.95, each shipped as a filled glass bottle with a cotton wick. Temple of Desire lists the scent as White Sage and Lavender; the LOGOS spec line names Black Violet, Saffron and Vanilla instead, and the listing follows the description text and product photography.
