How to use it
- Light the end of the bundle with the fewest stems and let it catch, then gently blow out the flame so it smolders.
- Waft the smoke with your hand or a feather, or rest the bundle on a heat-resistant surface such as an abalone shell.
- Move through the room clockwise, paying attention to corners, doorways, and any space that feels heavy.
- Open a window so the smoke — and whatever it carries — has somewhere to go.
- Press the lit end out completely in sand or a shell. Never leave a smoldering bundle unattended.

Before you light it, hold the bundle and look at the three flowers. Name one thing you want to be in harmony with — a person, a season, your own body. Then light it. The smoke does the clearing; the naming does the rest.
Questions we get asked
Do the rose petals burn too?
They will smolder along with the sage as the bundle burns down. Many people keep floral bundles on the altar for a while first and light them only when the moment calls for it.
What does the trinity of flowers mean?
In ceremony a trinity carries many meanings. The one most often named is Maiden, Mother, Crone — the three stages of the goddess.
Where does your white sage come from?
Never harvest white sage from national parks or Native land — it is not ours to take. Our sage is farm-grown in sustainable ways on a farm in Mexico.
How do I put it out safely?
Press the smoldering end firmly into sand or a heat-resistant shell until no smoke rises at all. Never leave a bundle unattended, and keep it away from children, animals, and anything flammable.
