How to use it
-
Light it before you sit, not after. Give it two or three minutes to settle into an even burn so you are not managing it mid-practice.
-
Place it behind you or to the side. Directly in front of a seated body is usually too much smoke in the face.
-
Ventilate. A window cracked a hand-width keeps the room breathable across a long sit.
-
Extinguish deliberately in sand or a heat-proof dish when you finish, and relight the same stick next time.
-
Pair it with a fixed cushion and a fixed hour — scent is the fastest cue there is for a body that is learning a routine.
✨ Temple Tip — scent is the cheapest habit anchor you own
Burn one incense for one practice and nothing else. After a few weeks the smell alone starts doing part of the work — the body recognises the cue and settles before the mind has agreed to anything. Use a different stick for cleaning the flat, and keep this one for the cushion.
Questions we get asked
Is this a strong scent?
Yes, relative to a thin stick. It is deep and resinous rather than sharp, but the sticks are thick and one hour of burn fills a room properly. Start with fifteen minutes.
Will it awaken kundalini energy?
It is an incense. The name and the blend come from a tradition of association — we make no claim about what it does to your body or mind, and nothing here is medical advice.
Can I put one out and relight it?
Yes — that is how the maker intends them to be used. Press the lit end gently into sand or a heat-proof dish, let it cool, and relight when you next sit down.
Do I need a holder?
Yes. Use a heat-proof holder or ash catcher on a stable, non-flammable surface, in a ventilated room, and never leave a burning stick unattended.
Can I return it?
No. Incense is a consumable and this item is non-returnable. If something arrives damaged, write to us and we will make it right.
Burn safely: Always burn in a heat-proof holder on a stable, non-flammable surface, in a well-ventilated room. Never leave a burning stick, bomb or disk unattended. Keep away from children, pets, curtains and anything that catches. Smoke-cleansing products give off a lot of smoke — start away from smoke detectors. Store dry and out of direct sun. A ritual object, not a remedy: traditional associations described here are traditions of association, not claims of physical or psychological effect, and nothing here is medical advice.
