Labradorite only shows itself at an angle. Straight on it is a grey stone; turn your wrist and a sheet of blue or green comes up out of it and disappears again. It is the least showy stone in the case until it moves.

This cuff sets a single octagonal labradorite, 24 x 30 mm, on an open bangle in gold or silver plate. In crystal lore labradorite is the stone of intuition and courage — the one traditionally reached for when you need to say the true thing rather than the easy one.

At a glance

  • 1 piece, open bangle cuff
  • Stone: octagonal labradorite, 24 x 30 mm
  • Bangle size: 62 mm
  • Metal: copper under gold or silver plate
  • Weight: 20 g
  • Available in gold or silver
  • More in Bracelets and Crystals & Stones

How to use it

  • Open cuff, so it slides on sideways — ease it over the narrowest part of the wrist rather than forcing it over the widest.
  • Wear it on the hand you write with if you want to notice it. The flash catches every time you move.
  • Take it off for water. This is plated metal over copper — showers, pools and cleaning products will shorten the life of the plating.
  • Put it on last, after lotion and perfume, and wipe it with a dry soft cloth before it goes away.
  • Store it dry and separate from other pieces so the stone does not get scratched.

✨ Temple Tip — turn it towards the window

Labradorite is a stone you have to work with to see. Hold it under a lamp or towards a window and rotate slowly — there is one angle where the whole face lights up. Find it once and you will always know how to wear the cuff so the flash faces out.

Questions we get asked

What size is the bangle?
62 mm across, as an open cuff, so there is some give when putting it on.
What metal is it?
Copper with a gold or silver plate. Choose your finish in the product options.
Can I wear it in water?
Better not. Plated jewelry lasts considerably longer if you take it off before showering, swimming or cleaning.
Why does the stone look different in different photos?
Labradorite flash depends entirely on the angle of the light. Every stone is natural and unique, so the color of the flash varies from piece to piece.
How heavy is it?
20 g — solid enough to feel like a cuff rather than a wire, light enough for all day.

Turn your wrist and let the light do the rest. #TempleOfDesire
