How to use it
Wet the bar, work up a lather in your hands or on a cloth rather than dragging it directly across the skin, and rinse well. Raw black soap is softer than a milled bar, so a light touch goes further.
Between uses, keep it on a draining dish out of standing water — this is the single thing that decides whether an 8 oz bar lasts weeks or months. Many people cut the bar into two or three pieces and keep the rest dry and wrapped until needed.

Cut it. An 8 oz bar of raw black soap kept whole in a wet dish will soften from every side at once. Cut off a quarter, keep that in the bathroom and store the rest wrapped and dry — the same bar will last you several times longer.
